Chem lab Insight!

The other day, I was doing research and waiting for the CV (Cyclic Votammetry, a analytical chemistry technique) to be done. So I went wondering around the department and took some pictures of some of the chemistry labs on the second floor of the science center. In chemistry department at Hope, analytical lab, general chemistry labs, physical chemistry lab, and inorganic lab are on the second floor of the science center, and the organic labs are on the third floor (which also has some really cool instrument, and I'll probably take more pictures and share with you later on).

So here are some pictures you might enjoy :)

The Atomic Absorption instruments used in analytical chemistry lab.

The general chemistry lab (yeah, it is biiiig!)

The instrument used for heat of vaporization experiment in p-chem lab. (Don't freak out if you feel like you have no clue what's going on, that was how I felt the first time I did the experiment. It's gets better :D )

The HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) that's used in analytical chemistry lab.

The microlab that is used a lot in general chemistry lab. (I think it's really cute :P)

The p-chem lab. (looking cool huh?)

The UV-VIS spectrometer that's used in both p-chem and analytical lab. (It's a CARY 5E)

a closer up picture of the confusing p-chem lab apparatus @_@
